This California Consumer Privacy Act Notice (“CCPA Notice”) contains information about remot3.it personal information processing, and your rights as a California resident under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). This CCPA Notice is in addition to our Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your Personal Information or any data related to you that is collected within the remote.it Service. Your information is only used as necessary to operate the Service.

When you choose to use our Services, including visiting our website, we may collect and process your personal information. remot3.it has collected the following categories (“Data Categories”) of personal information from its users as necessary to provide our Services and/or as otherwise allowed under our Privacy Statement. What Rights Do I Have to Learn More About My Personal Data?

If you believe the personal data we have about you is incorrect, you may notify us in writing of what you would like to correct and why.  We will respond within 30 business days.  

If we agree, we will change our records.  

If we disagree, we will tell you why.  You can write us with a short statement explaining why you believe that the data is incorrect.  

Deletion of your Personal Data

You may request that remot3.it delete the personal information we process about you, subject to certain limitations. Your personal information may not be deleted if the information is necessary to:

  1. Complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected, provide a service requested by the consumer, or reasonably anticipated within the context of a business’s ongoing business relationship with the consumer, or otherwise perform a contract between the business and the consumer.
  2. Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; or prosecute those responsible for that activity.
  3. Debug products to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
  4. Ensure the right of another consumer to exercise his or her right of free speech, or exercise another right provided for by law.
  5. Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act pursuant to Chapter 3.6 (commencing with Section 1546) of Title 12 of Part 2 of the Penal Code.
  6. Comply with a legal obligation.
  7. Otherwise use your personal information, internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which you provided the information.

Verifying consumer requests

Only you or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. Your request must:

  1. Provide sufficient information that allows us to verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
  2. Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

Generally, requests submitted through your remot3.it account will be considered sufficiently verified when the request relates to personal information associated with that specific account. However, if you have not created, or no longer have access to your remot3.it account, we may request additional materials or information for the purposes of validating the authenticity of your request.

remot3.it will use the information provided in connection with a verification request solely for the purposes of verification. We cannot effectuate your request if we are unable to verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm that the personal information relates to you.

California Privacy Rights

Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, California residents who provide personal information in obtaining products or services for personal, family, or household use are entitled to request and obtain from us, once a calendar year, information about the customer information we shared, if any, with other businesses for their own direct marketing uses. If applicable, this information would include the categories of customer information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared customer information for the immediately prior calendar year (e.g. requests made in 2020 will receive information regarding 2019 sharing activities).

To obtain this information, please send an email message to legal@remote.it with “Request for California Privacy Information” on the subject line and in the body of your message. We will provide the requested information to you at your email address in response. Please be aware that not all information sharing is covered by the “Shine the Light” requirements and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), California residents have the right to know what personal information about them is collected, request deletion of their personal data, opt-out of the sale of their personal data, and not be discriminated against if they choose to exercise any of these rights. remot3.it does not sell any of the personal data we collect about you. Changes to this notice

remot3.it will review and update this notice at least once every 12 months and more frequently as needed. We recommend visiting this page periodically to stay aware of any changes. If we modify this notice, we will make the revised notice available through our website.
